Description:

The historical buildings in the city of Wetzlar require a sensible design of architectural lighting.

The old residencial building "Zur Weißen Taube" is one of the most remarkable buildings in the historic part of Wetzlar. The aim of the architectural lighting concept was a subtle emphasis of the front from bottom up to the roof tip. The contrast between the warmer feel of the front and the cold lighting of the white dove gives a focus to the architecture. So there is a difference between the night and day situation, allowing the viewer to explore the beauty of the architecture. The small beamers were installed invisible to the viewer.

The power consumption of this installation is only 0.6kWh. Compared to a normal light source (500W) it shows that fiberoptics can work with much less energy than conventional lighting. In addition to that the unwanted light pollution was reduced to an absolute minimum.
