The former municipal bath in Asslar was changed into a modern leisure facility during the last few years. To realize the sophisticated attitudes towards lighting design, the specilists of bedea's were integrated at an early stage.

Up to now, the following steps could be established in close cooperation with the building department of the city of Asslar:

Sauna Area:
Conditions: high temperatures, high humidity.
Design: coloured light with time-controlled colour change (15 mins. interval).

Water feature:
Conditions: permanently wet environment, high protection against humidity mandatory, difficult service conditions.
Design: direct positioning of light outcouplings in the water, easy service access for maintenance by installation of the light source itself in a dry place.



Lighting of pathes:
Conditions: flat lighting above the pavement, wide area illumination outdoors.
Design: wide area illumination by positioning the light outlets directly by bores in stones at the pathways, accentuation of environmental highlights by mini pillars.

With smallest amount of light sources (only 4 light sources alltogether), a both, estetical and effective lighting design with lowest power consumption (0,6 kWh) is realized. Looking at the cost effectiveness, service-free and electrical secure outcouplings, even in humid and hot environmental conditions, makes the fiber optic lighting system bedea akzent to be very interesting for municipalities.
